Vicky and the Zips from Sew Preeti Quilts

The Island Batik challenge for April is Crazy Quilts with Aurifil Threads.  

The Zippered Pouches - in progress


The challenge is to show off the thread from the Color Builder set in a Crazy Quilt! Try out different block combinations and layouts and experiment with decorative stitches and embroidery to highlight the tread you received.

I received the Frangipani Color Builder from Aurifil Threads.



To ensure that these threads/embroidery/stitches showed well on the fabric, I decided to use Island Batik solids.  Since I also wanted to make a modern interpretation of Crazy Quilts, the solids were a perfect choice ...

A "Crazy" Story from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye







When we first started our blog and set up our Through the Needle's Eye website, our hope was to invite others with stories of their quilts to share. More Crazy Quilt Trinket Blocks from Kitty and Me Designs

 I stitched up a two more Crazy Quilt Trinket blocks.  I think I'm up to 42 blocks now!


 

This one has an Autumn theme.  The leaves in the very center are a brooch that I found over the Summer at an estate sale for I think, 50 cents!

Still Crazy... from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye


When pondering the title of this post, a number of familiar songs came to mind, and I (Teri) have a bit of Paul Simon, Heart, Van Morrison, Queen, and Patsy Cline bouncing in my head as I write. Another Quilt Has Been finally Quilted. from My Love of Quilting and Sewing

Took a deep breath and just jumped in and quilted it. 

Nothing fancy bu still very nice. 


YES Completed!!!! I AM HAPPY!

Now to get going and complete the Binding.
